Jun 10th, 2026 - 11:00am - 2:00pm     Century Park in Vernon Hills
Please sign up on the Website. Looking for scouts to help for a great cause.
Holy Cross has been involved with Project Healing Waters for about 7-8 years. The organization offers opportunities for Veterans and disabled Veterans to learn to fly fish. Holy Cross hosts a lunch for veterans from Loveall Hospital in North Chicago once a month, from October to April, at the church.

They meet at Century Park in Vernon Hills, giving the vets a chance to get out and fish. Holy Cross also provides lunch for these events. The events start around 11:00 AM, and the bus takes off about 2:00 PM. Once lunch is served and cleaned up, volunteers often leave. Our volunteers do a great job and are looking to include more to experience this wonderful opportunity to meet and serve our Veterans.

Liberty in Action: 250th Anniversary Challenge

The Liberty in Action: 250th Anniversary Challenge brings together Scouts from all programs to explore America’s founding principles, connect Scouting’s long tradition of civic service to our national story, and take meaningful action in their communities. Running from March 2026 through February 2027, this program blends learning, creativity, service, and reflection — offering Scouts, leaders, and families a powerful way to participate in America’s semiquincentennial. Requirements: https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Liberty_in_Action_A250_Challenge_Final.pdf
